Mature Communities in Chestermere.

When The Beaches was started the first homeowners were told that they would have a lakefront lot for that development's private use. As all lakefront lots are zoned R1, that was a promise they should have never made. In fact they did not put it in writing so of course many of the first residents were very disappointed.

Homes in this area were built starting in 1993 similar to Chesterview Estates people could buy the lot and bring their own builder. Other phases were not added that quickly. More were built in 1997, but it took off in 1999. Towards the end of the development, builders built showhomes and you could only build with selected builders for that area. Fortunately, they were solid builders that built great homes. They were Stepper Homes, Sterling Homes and Nu-Vista Homes.

Things to Love About This Division

  • Yards still larger than other areas.
  • Newer homes have estate finishes.
  • Close to the canal for fishing.
  • Close to the bike/rollerblade/walking path.
  • Quieter at this end of the lake.
  • Close to the lake with many homes having a lake view.

Areas of Caution

•Untreated pine shakes were still being used when this area was built.
