A waterfront home or as we call it a lakefront home in Chestermere has or can have a dock, it can have a boat lift and you own to the water and underneath your dock. This was done so that the Western Irrigation District would not have liability if someone hit a dock. On most bodies of water, you do not own right to the water. There is usually an area that the public can walk on in front of your home. This is another thing that makes Chestermere special. Some lakefront homes have a boat house. You can no longer build a boat house and if you tear your boat house down you can not rebuild it. You can repair your existing boathouse. Most lakefront lots are 50 feet wide. Some lots are 60 feet wide to 95 feet wide. Usually, if a lot was more than 100 feet it would have been subdivided already, providing it had a large enough area to be considered for two lots.
All of the lots at the Cove are 60 feet wide. There are many triple garages in this area. However there is a speed limit, and you have to make sure your boat is not too high to get under the bridge that joins the main part of the lake.
Homes on East Chestermere Drive have sunsets in the evening and a mountain view. West Chestermere lots tend to be deeper.
