Canadian Pacific Railway built a train station in the mid-1880s to serve the needs of families who flocked to the area for the rich ranch and farmland. The surname of the contractor who built the rail line was Langdon and the station was named after him. The history of Langdon lives on, as the streets are aptly named after the pioneers who first settled the area. Residents from the hamlet of Langdon enjoy an idyllic country setting, larger lots, lower taxes and a cherished community where people know their neighbours.
Langdon has many services and convenient shopping. There is a No Frills grocery store, Tim Hortons, a drug store, a dental office, a veterinarian, a chiropractor, Tim Hortons, Dairy Queen, a Chinese Restaurant, several pubs, and more stores and shopping will be coming.
East Hills Shopping Centre is only 10 minutes away. It has a Costco, Walmart, Sport Chek, Dollarama, Bed, Bath and Beyond, Michaels, Marshalls all open now. There will soon be movie theatres, more restaurants and shopping soon.
Langdon is located 12 Km East of Calgary at the intersection of Glenmore Trail and Hwy 797. 6.4 Km South of the Trans Canada Hwy and 6.5 km North of 22X.R
